Bathed in Sunlight, Rooted in the Sea
Bathed in Sunlight, Rooted in the Sea is the story of how art and science can shine a light on the unseen world of kelp forests. Through workshops, exhibitions and food, we will share the beauty and uses of kelp by bringing it onto dry land. Over 150 artists across Anglesey and Gwynedd will shape and build the structure of the events, drawing on the expertise of academics and scientists. The project will organise events with the aim of building a citizen science monitoring project and mapping kelp forests along the coast. The process behind Bathed in Sunlight, Rooted in the Sea will be documented and shared on the big screen to inspire more coastal communities to take action and explore the beauty that the sea hides below the water!
The project brings together over 150 artists from Anglesey and Gwynedd, alongside Bangor University, the Porcupine Marine Natural History Society, Endeavour Society and Seafood Trail Cymru.
