Your Environment, Your Mind: Youth Voices on Mental Health
The project translates population-scale epidemiological evidence into accessible, youth-led communications. Specifically demonstrating that children who grow up in greener neighbourhoods and breathe cleaner air are less anxious and depressed in adolescence.
Working with a diverse panel of 10–15 young people aged 14–18 years old with lived experience of anxiety and depression, the project will co-produce three short documentary films, a bilingual social media campaign, and a policy brief. Our outputs will target two audiences: young people across Wales and built environment professionals and policymakers. The project runs June 2026–May 2027 and aims to influence Local Development Plans, national planning policy, and Public Health Wales strategic frameworks.
