Green Spaces for Everyone - Youth-Led Research into Intersectional Access to Green Spaces

Through the awarded Green Spaces for Everyone project, the Scottish Youth Parliament will co-ordinate youth-led research into young people of colour’s safe access to and meaningful participation in the design and development of green spaces locally and nationally.

The research will take an intersectional approach exploring additional challenges such as gender and rurality. Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament will act as co-researchers to design and lead the investigation.

Through this project, the Scottish Youth Parliament aims to challenge the structural barriers faced by young people of colour when accessing natural spaces and provide evidence and tangible actions to decision-makers on what needs to change. Young people involved in the project will gain skills and knowledge, as well as building a supportive network of peers.
